
Alan WachtelVice President
He is the Sr. Vice President of SecTecGLOBAL, Inc., a marketing firm dedicated to developing the residential security business in the cable television and electrical utility sectors. He also had a 22-year tenure with Pittway Corp. (later Honeywell Security after it acquired Pittway), where he served last 13 years there as Vice President, International Marketing. He is credited to being one of the key players in growing the international business from $20 million to $300 million by changing the organization's perspective to become a global player. He was actively involved in acquisitions of both manufacturing and distribution companies on three continents and in opening new markets in Asia, Eastern Europe and South America in video, access control and intrusion. He also directly managed the Latin American & Caribbean Division. Wachtel is the former Chairman and member of various SIA committees developing security industry standards and is the former Chairman of NBFAA Advisory Board developing security industry training programs. He is the founding member of Commercial Data Systems Division of General Instrument Corp. (now part of Motorola), the industry leader in work station based remittance processing systems for the telecom, utility, insurance, retail department store and banking lock box markets. Wachtel led all technical development and marketing for the division. Wachtel received his MSEE degree in Computer Science from CUNY and his BSEE in Electrical Engineering degree also from CUNY. He is a former U.S. Army Corps of Engineers company grade Officer. He is a holder of an early DVR patent for the storage of high resolution video. |
